Beginning in 2015, No Limits Collaborative partnered with a local university in Berkeley, CA to start their No Limits program in which students with a mobility, vision, hearing, or invisible disabilities have increased access to RecSports facilities, equipment, and one-on-one training at no extra cost. The No Limits Program consists of:
One-on-one sessions with students who have disabilities. These sessions take place in the No Limits room at the Recreational Sports Facility (RSF) which is home to specialized equipment including Pilates machines (Trapeze table, Reformer, Springboard), a standing frame, and a Galileo. Rachel and several other trainers work closely with these students to develop an exercise program to meet the goals of each student.
RSF 101- a 45 minute session with Kinley which include:
A personal tour of the facility and the No Limits room
Information about how different equipment works and how to use it
An overview of the programs that we have to offer
Teaching and training the athletic trainers on staff on how to work with students with a variety of disabilities to provide high quality exercise
Developing and expanding current and future programs for students with disabilities
Providing expertise to administrators and staff for how to best address the needs of students with disabilities
